Crusade Choir

Pastors, Worship Leaders and Volunteers ,

I hope you’re doing well! My name is Ronnie Reid and I am the Worship Pastor at Golden Springs Baptist Church. I have been asked to oversee the Mass Choir for our upcoming Area-Wide Crusade. I’m excited about the opportunity we have to bring singers from our churches together

With 47 churches involved in this crusade, we have an incredible opportunity to show our community what it looks like when the Church comes together with one purpose. The Mass Choir will sing one night only,  Sunday, September 27,  and we would love to have a strong representation from every participating church!

Our worship songs (chosen by the crusade) for the evening will be:

• Praise — Elevation Worship

• Battle Belongs — Phil Wickham

• Yes I Will — Vertical Worship

• Holy Forever — Chris Tomlin

In addition, in honor of America’s 250th birthday, the Mass Choir will sing an SATB arrangement of “God Bless America.”

Rehearsals

We’ll have two rehearsals, both at 7:00 PM at Golden Springs Baptist Church:

• Thursday, September 3

• Thursday, September 17

I’ll include a link to a Dropbox folder containing the music and resources for the event so everyone can begin preparing ahead of time. We’ll have a limited number of printed copies available at rehearsal, but we strongly encourage singers to print their own music and bring it with them.  Should Dropbox ask for approval, please click the link and I’ll send it asap. 

Dress

We’re keeping this very simple: all black. No suits, ties, tuxedos, or elaborate dresses required. We want everyone to be comfortable and able to participate without feeling like they need to purchase anything special.

We Need Your Help!

Pastors and worship leaders, you are the key to getting your people involved. Please help us by personally communicating this opportunity to your choir, praise team, and other singers in your church. An announcement from the platform is great, but a personal invitation and encouragement from you will make an enormous difference.

And worship leaders, I’d especially love for YOU to be part of the Mass Choir! Your people are much more likely to participate when they see you participating alongside them. Come sing with us, bring your singers with you, and help us build a choir that truly represents the churches of our area.

Just imagine what it could look and sound like to have singers representing 47 different churches standing together as one choir! This isn’t about one church or one worship ministry. It’s an opportunity for the Church in our community to stand together and lift up the name of Jesus. I can’t think of a better picture for the opening night of this crusade.

Please begin sharing this with your people now and encouraging them to set aside September 27, along with our two rehearsal dates.

Another part of this process is the need for camera operators, video switching and ProPresenter operators for this crusade. If you have competent people who serve in these positions at your church, please share them with me. Or, better yet, if you have a media/ audio-visual person, please send me their name and contact information. This is a great opportunity for them to utilize their gifts in helping others come to Christ!
